When I was preparing for my baby’s arrival I knew I wanted to breastfeed simply based on the basic information I knew about the benefits of breastmilk for babies. I didn’t know much else and as my due date got closer I became anxious about breastfeeding and my lack of knowledge. Danielle taught me about latching, different nursing positions, how to keep up my milk supply, pumping and the benefits, not only for my baby but for myself.
Fast-forward to my baby’s arrival, I struggled with latching during the first two weeks due to my inverted nipples, which caused my milk supply to drop. I was on the verge of quitting because not only was it extremely painful to nurse, but my baby wasn’t getting milk which caused a lot of weight loss. Danielle not only helped me curate a nursing plan to increase my supply, but she took the time to come sit with me in my home for hours until my baby and I were both comfortable latching. Since that consultation I’ve been producing more milk, I’ve established a nursing routine, and I’ve seen tremendous progress with the latch in spite of my inverted nipples. Some days I still struggle with getting a comfortable latch but when I look back on the notes and techniques taught by Danielle I’m able to get through my challenges.
Danielle has been absolutely wonderful. When we came in, I was worried about supply, my baby’s latch, and whether he was being productive while nursing or not. At our last visit we were able to see that he’s been latching great and getting all the food he needs! Breastfeeding is very hard, and Danielle has been so helpful, not only for my breastfeeding journey, but also in making sure that I’m taken care of emotionally as well. Very thankful for her!
As a first time mom embarking on a new breastfeeding journey, I've been so grateful for Dani's support and advice -- which has really made the whole process so much easier to navigate. We first met Dani a few weeks before my daughter was born and that first visit was really so helpful in preparing me and my partner for what was to come, including what to expect during the golden hour after my baby's birth and those early breastfeeding days. Soon after the birth, she visited me a couple of times at home, where she offered advice as to my baby's latch and how to make breastfeeding more comfortable and successful. We also have had a couple of virtual sessions, in which I was able to ask questions about pumping, preparing to return to work, etc. Dani is very knowledgeable and really took the time to listen to my concerns and answer all my questions. I really am grateful that I had an expert to work with through this journey. I would've been much more lost and overwhelmed otherwise. Thanks, Dani!
Danielle is amazing! I had a virtual consultation with her, and she helped me so much! I am strictly pumping, and she went over pumps with me, helped me find the best flange fit, she educated me when it came to pumping and how to make sure I don't damage my nipples. She helped me with my son and sent me videos to help me to better understand feeding techniques and to help him with his stiffness from being in the womb. Danielle answered every question I had quickly and efficiently. I enjoyed working with Danielle, and I am extremely grateful that my doula connected me with her. Danielle is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what she does, and I am so glad that I met her!
