Are you a Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color (BIPOC) birth worker, doula, nurse, or aspiring lactation professional who wants to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)? You don’t have to walk this path alone—we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Our program is designed to guide you through the process of becoming an IBCLC by offering the tools, resources, and the community you need to succeed. From understanding the educational requirements to gaining hands-on clinical experience, we help you navigate the often confusing and expensive steps with clarity and support.
What We Offer:
Guidance on IBCLC Pathways: We’ll help you understand which of the three pathways is right for you, and how to meet the eligibility requirements.
Mentorship Opportunities: Gain supervised clinical experience through our network of experienced IBCLCs and partner sites, including hospitals, clinics, and private practices.
Financial Assistance: We provide limited funding and reimbursements to help cover the cost of lactation education, textbooks, and exam fees.
Community & Networking: Join a supportive cohort of aspiring IBCLCs of Color who understand your journey and are walking it alongside you.
Ongoing Support: Receive coaching, accountability, and access to curated resources to keep you on track from application to certification.
Important Info:
Will we be accepting applications until December 31, 2025 and selecting 5 or more participants depending on funding. We will be responding by the first week of February 2026 with your status. Please understand that this program is for serious candidates ONLY! There is a non-refundable enrollment fee of $249 as commitment to your progress if you are selected to join. With limited funds available at this time, we will reimburse you for what you pay out of pocket as funds become available. Funding is NOT guaranteed. There will be reasonable deadlines in place based on your current progress in order for you to continue to receive the necessary guidance and have access to our mentorship sites. Background checks may be required for participants who shadow in hospitals and up-to-date vaccination records (including COVID) may be required as well.
